Bio: Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, 36, the creative director of Kenzo, have been artistic and business partners since 2002, the year they founded Opening Ceremony in New York City. Both born and raised in Los Angeles, Carol and Humberto share a friendship that goes back much further to when they met at the University of California, Berkeley in 1993. At Opening Ceremony, the highly successful fashion, retail and online environment they created together, the pair has consistently set the pace for innovative clothing, shopping, évents, and collaborations. Their design for the brand’s extensive clothing and accessories collections have been an integral part of its universe. Carol and Humberto consistently reach outside of existing paradigms and stray from the expected to bring fun and diversity to fashion. They are completely captivated by the spirit of Kenzo, which for the mis a way of life. They are now infusing Kenzo with their expansive creative ideas to renew its youthful spirit and energy. Unexpected prints and patterns, vibrant color, music, and culture are hallmarks of the brand the twill become relevant once again.
